  • Recent hands-on experience in the carpentry trade, with up-to-date knowledge of the building industry
  • A people person who builds great rapport with others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Great at managing your own time and prioritising while working remotely and independently
  • Comfortable with digital tools and eager to learn new technologies
  • Hold a current, full NZ car driver's license
  • Bonus: experience in education and/or training

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | Tulaga o le galuega | About the role
As a BCITO Training Advisor, you'll play a crucial role throughout the Kaipara region, primarily supporting apprentices in carpentry. Your responsibilities will include providing mentoring support, conducting assessments (both onsite and via our online platform), and collaborating with employers to identify skill needs and promote apprenticeships.

The role will be based in the Kaipara region (around an hour from the our Whangarei office), so we're ideally looking for someone located in or near Mangawhai or Kaiwaka.
